Private Studio Lesson Policies

Students: Students should expect me to try and understand their likes and dislikes, their hopes and dreams, their learning styles, what level they are at currently, and how to best use these to create a fun and joyful musical development.

As such, students are expected to practice the amount needed to prepare for each week's lesson. Some weeks may take more time than others, however, students must gauge the appropriate amount of time necessary to prepare. I will do my best to take student's personal schedules into account for practice time.

Parents: Parents are not required to sit in on lessons but are welcome to sit in if they desire. Students may need help creating a regular practice schedule each week from their parents. While parents are expected to encourage their children to practice, I ask that this be done in a supportive manner. Students who participate in sports and various other lessons will have weeks where they need some more space in their schedule, however, I expect this will not become a regular routine. If a student is unable to practice at all throughout the week, I recommend cancelling until the next week.

Fees: Lessons are $30 for a 30 minute lesson or $50 for a 60 minute lesson. If lessons require me to drive off-campus to meet this will cost $5 per family per lesson. These are expected to be paid at the end of each lesson either via cash or Venmo: @AutumnHope

It is my goal for every student who has a desire to learn an instrument to have an opportunity at it. If there are financial concerns about pricing or frequency of payments, please reach out so we can come to an agreement on an alternative pricing or payment frequency.

Cancellation & Make-up Policy: Students (or parents of students) may cancel lessons for any reason within 24 hour notice of their lesson. If you are sick and are unsure if you will attend your lesson the next day, please cancel and rest.

Lessons missed or cancelled within 24-hour notice will be charged as a normal lesson. Exceptions can be made for family emergencies and medical emergencies.

Students with payment changes (either in amount or frequency) who are frequently late or missing for their lessons will lose their financial privileges.

If a student is late, the lesson will still end at the same time.

Students cannot reschedule lessons. Due to scheduling, I will allow one schedule change per student per year. After that, students must either be at their normal lesson times or have to cancel until the next week

Any lessons missed on my behalf with less than 24 hour notice will be made up. Any lessons missed on my behalf for unexpected emergencies, unexpected snowfall, transportation troubles, or being sick within 24 hours will be cancelled not be made up.
